Gloria is a community organiser, award-winning filmmaker, artist and activist. She intertwines storytelling and community action to meaningfully contribute to environmental and social justice in the Pacific Northwest. Her work particularly focuses on amplifying Indigenous voices and protecting the coast and all its beings. Her directorial debut, Coextinction, screened at Vancouver International Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Jackson Wild, and more. Coextinction’s impact campaign resulted in over 100 impact screenings and educated over 50,000 people on the plight of the Southern Resident orcas. She also organised a 371km march from Portland to Ice Harbor Dam to bring national awareness to the obsolete Snake River dams pushing salmon and orcas to extinction and violating Tribal Treaty rights. Gloria has worked with recognizable filmmaking institutions like the CBC, the NFB, and Hot Docs.
She lives in coastal British Columbia with her partner and dog, where she is devoted to protecting the Southern Resident orcas and supporting coastal restoration and rematriation work.
